Today’s food for thought.

But first gave their own selves to the Lord — 2 Cor 8:5

Jesus gave his life to us. He shed his precious blood as a ransom in weariness and woe. Jesus left God’s home of light;God’s rainbow-circled throne. Jesus suffered so much bitterness agony for us more than words can say only to save us from hell. Now Jesus has brought to us full salvation, pardon and love free of charge.

What a love Jesus has for us !

Remain blessed.

Get Out of Your Own Way

Why do you think it is nearly impossible for us to take a risk?  I mean, for those of us who are so talented at procrastination, we’ve turned it into an art form.  Why is it, do you think, we get stuck in going forward, stop trying something new, get blocked with our art — our creativity?  Is it fear?  Is it just fear?  Fear of what?

Is it fear of feeling not good enough?  Are we comparing ourselves to the greats who have accomplished their art forms and are highly successful and how can we possibly measure up?  Do we lack the courage to not only put ourselves out there but hide behind that shield of obscurity because we lack the courage in our abilities, and lack of courage in our very selves?

Were we told as children we’ll never measure up?  Or did we come to that conclusion on…

The Daffodils

daffidils 005

I wander’d lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
a host of golden daffodils,
Beside the lake, beneath the tress,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretch’d in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced, but they
out-did the sparkling waves in glee: –
A poet could not but be gay
In such a jocund company!
I gazed and gazed but little thought
what wealth the show to me had brought;

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils

– William Wordsworth.

I love this poet.
Have a wonderful Spring y’all 🙂

Extract from “How To Fall In Love” by Cecelia Ahern

Where would we be without tomorrows? what I’d have instead would be todays. And if that is the case, with you, I’d hope for the longest day for today. I’d fill today with you, doing everything I’ve ever loved. I’d laugh,I’d talk, I’d listen and learn, I’d love, I’d love, I’d love. I’d make everyday today and spend them all with you, and I’d never worry about tomorrow, when I wouldn’t be with you. And when that dreaded tomorrow comes for us, please know that I didn’t want to leave you,or be left behind, that every single moment spent with you where the best in my life.

Capture

Well, finally, I have finished the poem I started the other day. I’m not 100% happy with it but I’ll work on it again much later. This is what I had constructed for The Daily Post’s Feb 18th Writing 201 prompt of Animal, form of Concrete Poetry and device of enjambment. I had to use my snipping tool to take a screenshot as I could not get it to line up correctly when I copied it from Word to here.

You possibly find it taboo to discuss these things — depression and the like.  Perhaps you think, “If I just ignore it, it’ll go away.”  Or you avoid people that suffer with depression as if they have the plague.  I’ll bet no matter how happy you are or pretend to be, you have a certain level or type of depression in your own life.

There are various levels and types of depression.

1.)  You are melancholy due to the crappy weather

— we all suffer from this, because we need that Vitamin D from sunshine to boost our mood and make us feel and actually be healthier.  Oh, I can enjoy a drippy and dark cloudy day with the rain droplets bouncing on the leaves and dancing on the windowpanes but going without sun for too long will bring anybody down.

2.)  You receive rejection.
